Hi, I’m CarolyN Cox!

Carolyn has been a Mental Health Counselor for almost 20 years. She graduated with her master’s in counseling from the University of Phoenix. She has worked with children and adults who have experienced chronic trauma. She has worked with children who have been in foster care and who have been adopted through foster care and private adoptions.

Carolyn works with a variety of issues: including depression, anxiety, mood, attachment and trauma disorders.

Her focus always starts from the foundation of Attachment Focused Therapy. All issues are related to how we connect to ourselves, others and the world, and when there is a break in attachment or a lack of a secure attachment, difficulties arise that can impact every area of our lives. She focuses on helping individuals and families gain insight into their attachment styles and how to heal their attachment wounds and strengthen their positive relationships. She is also well versed in Sensory Processing Disorder and its impact on attachment.

Carolyn is certified in EMDR and has participated in many advanced EMDR trainings. EMDR is an integrative, comprehensive therapy that has successfully been used to treat a wide variety of issues and disorders with adults and children.

Carolyn has also been trained in various modalities of Play Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) Ego State work, Advanced Integrative Therapy Basic Training (AIT) and mindfulness.
